Cologne lies in West Germany, and is the fourth most populous city in the country.
The River Rhine runs through the city, which boasts Gothic churches, Roman towers, many Museums and spectacular viewpoints.
The only beer served in Cologne is called Kolsch, these beers are exclusive to cologne and brewed within 30 miles of the city centre.

City History
1. The Dom, Cologne Cathedral
Cologne Cathedral is one of the most spectacular attractions in the city, it can be seen towering above rooftops, reaching 157m high at its tallest point.
The Cathedral was origionally built in 1248, and is now a world heritage site. It's gothic features and colourful stained glass windows make it a masterpiece, and the focal point of the city.
The Dom was one of the only parts of the city which survived bombing in the second world war, it was extensively damaged, and became the centre of the cities rebuild.
2. Timeride
One of the more unusual historical spots in the city, Timeride offers an immersive virtual reality experience
taking you on a tram tour of the old city at the beginning of the 20th Century, before both world wars.
You can compare the city to ares visited on foot, little of the old town remains.

3. Imhoff Chocolate Museum
You can find several Museums in Cologne, including the Ludwig Museum of Modern and Pop Art, and the Wallraf Richartz Museum of Medieval Art.

6. The Traingle
After you have seen the sights of Cologne up close, the Triangle is the perfect way to round off the day.
Take the lift up to the 29th floor, and take in the panoramic views of the city, the cathedral, and the river Rhine.
The open air rooftop is surrounded by glass, it's enough to make your stomach turn, so not one for those afraid of heights.
7. Cable Car
Cologne cable car offers a unique view of the city at height, and along the river.
Absorb the spectacular views as you traverse across the river.
8. Sunset on the Rhine
Not far from the cable car, you can sit along the Rhine, on the concrete steps.
It is the perfect way to end your day, watching the sun set over the river with the cathedral in sight.
